HERE ARE SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS       FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS

-Is this course mandatory? Can I just enter into your regular classes?

Yes, unless you have trained before, the intro class is the only way to start training Jiu Jitsu at our gym. That being said, in addition to building a solid knowledge of fundamentals, the main purpose of this course is to ensure new students understand how to safely roll and build enough confidence to be able to train live with other students. We have had students in past intro courses who felt like they were ready to jump into the regular classes so if your instructors think you can safely train in our beginners and all levels classes, you may be able start attending our other classes while you are still going through the intro course.

After the 5 week course is over, if you want to continue training you can sign up for a membership and start coming to the other classes. If you missed too many days or feel like you need more time before coming to the more advanced classes, you are welcome to repeat the intro course after you sign up.

Exceptions are: if you are Law Enforcement or you have prior grappling experience, then you don't have to go through this course. Wrestling counts as prior grappling experience. If you are not sure whether you need to start in the intro course, contact us to schedule a free first class and we can recommend the best class to start. If you have trained before or are law enforcement, contact us to schedule a free first class.

- Do I have to come to all 3 days?

Yes. It would be preferable to try to come to all scheduled classes. The classes during these 5 weeks build onto the last class on most days so if you miss too many classes you won't be benefiting as much as you can from this course. We do understand sometimes you have to miss class and we try our best to get people caught up by reviewing material at the beginning of every class. If you know you are going to miss a bunch of days talk to your coaches, you may be able to come to some of the beginners classes.

- How is this course different than your regularly scheduled classes?

Our regularly scheduled beginners and all levels classes do not have a set curriculum, the classes don't build onto the last class or have any minimum attendance requirements. You simply come when you want to train and learn whatever technique is being taught that day. The students in these classes are people from all levels, some are beginners and some have been training for a while. We also roll at the end of each class as opposed to just doing situational drills.

The intro course is a 5 week comprehensive beginners program that focuses on the fundamental concepts of Jiu Jitsu and covers a set curriculum. Most classes build onto the last class. Everyone is a beginner in this class and you get more personalized attention from your coaches.

Starting Jiu Jitsu without having a basic understanding of the fundamentals can be confusing for a lot of people. The goal of the intro course is to minimize the confusion experienced in the initial weeks and fully prepare you to better understand and learn the materials being taught in our regular classes.

The intro course will also cover gym rules/ etiquette, how to train safely as well as ease you into sparring/ rolling with other beginners instead of throw you in with more experienced people on day 1. The physical aspect of the class builds in intensity over the 5 weeks so you are not going from zero to a hundred percent on Day 1.

- What if I change my mind or something comes up and I can't complete the course? What is the refund policy for this course?

If you decide the course isn't for you on Day 1 or Day 2, you will get a full refund.

There will be no refunds after Day 2 if you simply decide you no longer want to do this.

If an unforeseen event comes up, you can come to the next course we offer and you won't be charged again.

- I want to start training Jiu Jitsu but can't make it on the days/ times you offer the intro course. How can I get started if I can't make it to the intro?

The intro course will be offered a few times a year and we may offer other days/ times in the future. You can also contact us and see if we can get you started in some of our other classes.
